Devoted to the success of our students, London School offers the most thorough and comprehensive Old School Barbering Program available. We also offer a relaxed, modern and friendly learning environment. Our advanced techniques will have you confident and ready to apply your professional skills immediately after you complete the Old School Barbering Program. You will be qualified to provide:
Program Length
Our Old School Barbering program takes six months to complete. Classes are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday.
New course starting every month and job placement assistance is available to all graduates.
Our evening program takes seven months to complete.Classes are 5:50 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Tuition
$6,720.00 (payable @ $1,120.00 per month).
Equipment is a further $1100.00 (plus taxes).
Requirements
All applicants must meet the minimum requirements as stated in our Enrollment and Admissions Policy.
The first month
During your first month you will be training exclusively with mannequins. We will teach you will the basics of:
- cutting
- draping, and blow-drying for short and long hair
- perming and colour application techniques
- sectioning, and angles of elevation
- shampooing
Months two to six
In your second month, you will join our more advanced students on the salon floor. During this main phase of the program, our highly skilled instructors will guide you through a wide range of advanced barbering skills including:
- face shape analysis
- full facial shave with hot towels
- hair lines
- massage
- modern trend cuts (including faux hawks and texturized cuts)
- razor cuts
- tapering (fades)
- trimming and shaping beards and mustaches
Barbering theory is taught in a casual classroom setting through lecture, Q&A, with key notes supplied throughout. Our theory instructor holds a Bachelor degree in Education and has over 20 years of experience in the industry.
The end Result
On successful completion of our Old School Barbering course you will receive a diploma from London School and you become eligible to take the CIABC exam and receive their Certificate of Qualification for British Columbia, the highest and best recognized qualification available in B.C. at this time.
